B Welles

—Learn Up From Down (Prod. By Sledgren)

Up and coming East Hartford, CT representative, B Welles, dropped off his newest mixtape Cloud Bound on thursday afternoon. With all original beats from the likes of producers such as Sledgren & Johnny Juliano, Welles demonstrates cool rhymes throughout the 13 track project. The new drop features Kev Clark & MiC Kurb of ASF.

We liked track 4 off of the new tape, let us know what you think!

JoeSneaks

—Skyfall

New beat producer talent from Hebron, Connecticut is promised to have you asking for some production for your next mixtape. The young producer goes by the name of JoeSneaks and is planning on making a serious come up with his skills. His drum choice and pattern make the sounds of his beats come together very respectfully and his future with production looks promising from here!

We liked one of his submitted beats entitled “Skyfall”, check it out and tell us what you think!

King Louie The III

—Sinners prod. by MCMXCIV

Coming straight out of Hartford County, CT, up and coming hip-hop artist King Louie The III has been making a splash on the underground rap scene. It is impossible to go without noticing the 18 year-old’s work ethic as he has released 4 solo, full length mixtapes since 2011. His most recent release, Word Life, harbored some very memorable tracks for underground hip-hop fans to vibe to.

Our favorite track was Sinners which was produced by the hard working young man himself. Take a listen and don’t forget to tell us what you think!

Sometimes listening to your friends about the talent of producers they know is the right thing to do, especially when talking about 17 year old producer BackPack from NJ. If you’ve ever heard of Xaphoon from Chiddy Bang you’d recognize the influence when listening to BackPacks productions and remixes. With his ability to chop up samples and utilize Maschine drum sounds, BackPack looks to broaden his reach in the production game.

I was really impressed with his remix of Hands on The Wheel. Check it out!

Well you can probably tell from the cover art that we have quite a character on our hands with upcoming CT artist D-Celli. Over the genius sample of Good Feeling by Flo Rida, D-Celli was able to do what he does best, storytelling at its finest. What I like most about the aspiring artist is the mastery of his flow and the confidence in his swag. With a quick rhyme scheme and a good head on his shoulders, Celli looks to separate himself from his competitors in 2013 with the upcoming release of his first album Do or Die Music: The Difference, due this spring.

We really liked “The Love of The Hustle Pt. II”, check out the sick track and let us know what you think!

I still have to thank my old neighbor Groovy Lu for introducing me to CT’s very own, Ian Matthew. You’ll be able to tell right from the jump that this kid can straight up rap. I remember a time when raw talent was a necessity in the rap game. Well this kids got it. Tape after tape, Ian Mathew, formerly PreMere, continues to deliver what is expected of the CT emcee. Accompanied by the uptempo bangers from longtime producer MikeyGBeats, Matthew was able to get back in his zone once again with his latest effort, Selfless.

We upped the intro to Matthew’s 3rd offering. Download the tape and tell us what you think!

AckurateThaWise is a 21 year old artist hailing from STL. Apart from the complex lyricism and direct rapping technique, what sets Ackurate apart from the pack is his belief in his dreams and the work in his grind. Hard work has become a lost art in the rap game and Ackurate is taking the right steps to bring back the effort in the game. ThaWise has a good ear for instrumentals that fit his rap style and puts together well rounded pieces.

We really liked track 3, from Ackurate’s new project, Ackurate Precision. Let us know what you think!

JG is a 16 year old emcee repping Farmington, CT. His lyricism and wordplay caught the attention of the good people at BROOKE Ent. Despite his very young age, he creates an amazing imagery with his smooth raps, very reminiscent of J. Cole. We are excited about the future of the young wordsmith as he has a lot of time to grow and develop on what can be a promising career for the CT native. Check out an attention grabbing drop from the young emcee entitled m e n t a l, and let us know what you think!

Sage from the artist/producer team, ASF, dropped off a nasty remix compilation to rap up 2012. Accompanied by Simpdawg, Sage delivers bars that you’d expect from an artist twice his age. At only the age of 17, Sage expressed his versatility in this collection of remixes to some of the dopest tracks to drop this year. Listen up and tell us what you think!

Kevin Abstract from the ASF crew just dropped his latest gem from his upcoming LP, Brockhampton. Abstract is accompanied by fellow ASF artist Ameer Vann on this stellar track which has bridged the gap between hip-hop and indie music. Call it a biased opinion if you will, but the music is undeniable. Tell us what you think!
